Guidelines for Submission
Please fill free to use all (one) page space of the format A4 with 2 cm margins on all sides, except right (1,5 cm). The title must be written in capital letters, bold, centralized, font Times New Roman 12.
Name, surmane, autor's affiliations and email of the corresponding author must be written as indicated in example (the name of a presenting author must be underlined).
Text should be 1,15 lines spaced with font Times New Roman 12.
Abstract has do not contain figures or tables.
Short acknowledgement and up to 3 references are acceptable.
In case of multiple abstract submission, please provide abstracts on separate pages of the same file.
Abstract topic – abstracts must be allocated to a specific topic for the Scientific Programme. Please choose from the list of topics.
Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission of his/her abstract.

The Scientific Committee will be responsible for acceptance as an oral or poster presentation or rejection of the submitted abstracts.
Conference speakers will be invited by the Scientific Committee.
Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees will be scheduled to be included in the Conference materials.
Rules for submission
All abstracts should be submitted and presented in English with accurate grammar and spelling which are suitable for publication.
Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by 15 May 2024 will be scheduled for presentation.
Attention: extension of abstract submission deadline until June 1, 2024.

Riboflavin is the essential vitamin for human nutrition and animal feeding being the precursor of two coenzymes: riboflavin-5'-phosphate (flavin mononucleotide, FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD). The flavin coenzymes are involved in a wide range of biochemical processes, particularly in mitochondrial electron transport, photosynthesis, fatty acid oxidation, metabolism of vitamins, B6, B9 (folates) and B12. The aim of this work was optimization of fed-batch fermentation conditions for maximal accumulation of riboflavin by Candida famata AF-4/2xSEF1/IMH3/RIB1/RIB7 (RF-3) riboflavin overproducer (Dmytruk et al., 2011). Best Poster Awards
The Best Poster Awards will be given for the best four poster presentations, with the particular focus on scientific rigour, contribution to the field, relevance to the conference theme and overall presentation. Poster winners will be announced publically at the end of the poster session. The winners will recceive a certificate and award. 1st award: yearly membership of American Society for Microbiology. Other 3 winners will receive a scientiffic book. Additionally, scientists from Ukrainne will be able to get an additional award.
Regulation of the competition for the best poster presented within the 9th International Weigl Conference, Rzeszow
1. Target group
The organizer of the competition is the Organization Committee of the 9th International Weigl Conference. The competition is addressed to all persons registered for the 9th International Weigl Conference, referred to in what follows as the Conference, who gave notice of a poster presentation during the registration. The members of the Competition Committee will be selected by the Organizing Committee during the Conference from among the participants of the Conference.
2. Purpose of the competition
• dissemination of the research results standing in accordance with the needs and interests of the participants of the Conference within the scope of multidisciplinary investigations into microbiology,
• inspiring research activity and scientific debate,
• developing the ability to observe the rules of scientific presentation in academic fora.
3. Time and place of the competition
The competition will take place in the Conference venue, i.e. on the premises of the Rzeszow University, Pigonia Str. 1, building A0 - Atrium.
4. Object of the competition
• scientific poster authored or co-authored by the registered Conference participant as a young scientists PhD/postdocs < 35 years old, presented during the Poster Session on the first day of the Conference from 17.40 to 19.00
5. Decision of the competition and prize
Posters will be evaluated on the rating scale by secret ballot by the Competition Committee appointed by the Organizing Committee of the Conference. The author of the highest rated poster will be awarded. The results of the competition will be announced during the closing session of the Conference. The winner will be distinguished with diploma and valuable material prize.
6. Formal requirements
A poster should include the title and the authors' affiliations. Maximal poster size: A0, i.e. width 84.1 cm, height 118.9 cm. Place of poster presentation: boards indicated by the Conference organizers in a tent installed on the premises of the Rzeszow University, Pigonia Str. 1, building A0 – Atrium. Posters should be hung up by their authors before the Poster Session, on Thursday by 17.30 at the latest. Posters should be removed by their authors on Thursday after 19.00.
7. Final provisions
The decision of the Jury is final and incontestable, which means that no appeal can be brought against the decision. The organizers reserve the right to develop and publish the results of the competition including the names and affiliations of the awarded authors. Entering the competition involves the agreement for the personal data to be processed within the scope necessary for running the competition – the required agreement for the personal data to be processed together with the notification clause have been included in the Registration section.
The Winners will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on third day of conference 15.30 – 16.00.
